I decided to look into make up and hair trends to see what kind of colours, textures and patterns I need/want to include in my own photo shoots. Many of these photos gave me inspiration, I feel like this year is all about standing out and being an individual in the way that we express ourselves.
Valentino - Glowing skin provided the base for Pat McGrath's neutral-toned beauty look at Valentino.
What do I like about this look?
I really like the base in this photo I think it has been done in a beautiful way... It is not too much, looks very natural but dewy and healthy at the same time. The eyebrows add a bit of character to this look as well as nicely emphasised cheekbones.
Valentino - Hair was by Guido Palau, styled in cornrows fastened into messy buns.
What do I like about this look?
This hairstyle has given me a lot of inspiration and made me want to think about the box, while creating my own work. It is not something that I would design myself, because I would think it would be too much, but seeing it in photos - I think it looks absolutely amazing. Very original and creates this interesting feel.
What do I like about this look?
This look I think is very brave and not something I would expect from Chanel. However, I really like the braveness as it is shocking in a sense and creates an element of excitement.

Chanel - Hair was styled by Sam McKnight, in double ponytails fastened with metal clasps.
What do I like about this look?
This hairstyle is abstract but very simple at the same time, which makes it really interesting. It is something I would like to do with my work, however I do find that quite hard at the moments. In order to overcome that I think I should practice different catwalk hairstyles and see what works and what doesn't.

At Alexander McQueen, Lucia Pieroni created a beautiful, luminous look with flushed cheeks for an outdoorsy glow.
What do I like about this look?
This is a very natural look, which is not me at all and I do not really understand the purpose of it. However I am able to appreciate it, it has been done it a very light and beautiful way... I really like the pink cheeks, they add an element of femininity to this look.
Nina Ricci - At Nina Ricci, Aaron de Mey made a high-shine red lip the focus of the make-up.
What do I like about this look?
I think this is a classic red lip look, however it has been 'updated' with lipgloss, which is very trendy! The lips are the main focus of this photo. The rest of the face looks like a blank canvas. This is very interesting as I always worry that the look I have created isn't original enough.

Christian Dior - Guido Palau styled hair in low ponytails, fastened at the nape of the neck with ribbon ties which went all the way around the neck.
What do I like about this look?
When it comes to a very clear, natural looking skin I think it will forever remain a trend because it is simply beautiful. I really like the fact that the very strong contour isn't included and the Instagram trend is not a part of this look. This I feel promotes natural beauty which should always be fashionable as I feel like it is also very feminine.
What do I like about this look?
This look looks very similar to the one above however it includes a very bright element on the eyes, which is the blue eyeliner. I think this adds a sense of originality to the look as well as still promoting natural beauty.
I feel like the hair compliments the make up, and even though the skin and the hair look quite natural, the blue line on the eyelid makes this look quite abstract.
Anthony Vaccarello - Several of the models wore bold red lipstick on both their lips and eyes instead.
What do I like about this look?
This look includes a hint of a classic look, which is the red lips. Marilyn Monroe seemed to have started the trend itself, and it has been fashionable ever since. I also like the way they incorporated the red into it as well, by applying it onto the eyes, and making it look quite interesting- almost like bleeding eyes! This sort of thing is something I would do in order to create a story.

Missoni - At Missoni, Lucia Pieroni created a graphic look with painterly stripes of colour across the lids and into the brows.
What do I like about this look?
This is a look that reflects spring/summer 2016 trends the most in my opinion. Blue colour is going to be very popular whether it comes to fashion itself or make up.
The design is very interesting and very simple at the same time! It made me realise that a catwalk look doesn't necessarily have to be very complicated. All it needs is one original design, which makes you focus on one part of the face.
The one thing that I realised when looking at this year's make up trends is that they are very much influenced by fashion and what fashion designer's feel like should be a trend at the time.
